Summer Bucket List 2015 (and goals)

Since summer is here and well, it is already mid June, I thought it appropriate to create a summer bucket list, just like last year. Clara's school goes year round, so our schedule won't really change at all. Yet I think I need a little boost in intentionality for Camille on weekdays, and then for both girls on the weekends.

So here it is. . . summer bucket list 2015. I'll update with pictures/posts as we check items off our list. (Not too much is different from our list last year, but most every item will be "new" for Camille, since she was just a wee thing last summer.)

SUMMER BUCKET LIST 2015

SPLASH PAD

ZOO

AQUARIUM/CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

MAGNOLIA POOL (toddler friendly pool in our area)

BAYOU BEND WILDLIFE PARK

TODDLER TIME AT LIBRARY

SNO-CONES or FROZEN YOGURT

MCDONALDS PLAY AREA

FINGER PAINT

HOST A PLAY DATE (w/ lots of friends)

RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS (TBD!)

These pictures crack me up!

I also created a few summer goals for the girls. Not with the intent that each will be mastered in a few months, but just so we can be purposeful in working towards important life skills/items. We currently do all of these things, but (I especially) need a visual reminder so we can work a little bit harder from day to day. Some of these might sound silly, although several are quite hard/stressful for Clara.

  • Incorporate plate at meals
  • Introduce spoon (at least for Camille)
  • Hand washing
  • Teeth brushing
  • Less toys/distractions at mealtimes
  • PECS training (Clara)
  • Potty (Clara, 30 seconds a day w/ toy. Just getting her comfortable. Nowhere close to officially potty training.)

HAPPY SUMMER!! What items are on your summer list?

  1. Great list and great goals!! I remember your list last year inspired me to introduce the twins to sno cones and then I never followed through, so it WILL happen this summer :)

Also, we, too, need to get better about handwashing... they are religious about it at school and I feel like we hardly ever remember to do it with the kids. Oops.

  3. Hey! Once I am out and about again, we'd love to join you if you ever want company on these adventures. I realize that baby O won't be doing much other than being present but I sure like y'all's company!

  4. We just took our first walk to the neighborhood ice cream shop on Friday. Huge hit!!! I hear you on needing some intentional structure for these hot days! I had an informal list, but like the idea of making it more official! Thanks for the great idea!
