Clara meets the Houston zoo

Our small group from church met up at the Houston zoo Saturday early evening. It was a lot of fun and the first time we have ever taken Clara there (read: slacker parents)! We were not sure if she would really be into it or not. She seemed to really enjoy being outdoors and looking around, although since most of the animals were so far in the distance, it was hard to point out and really show her what she was looking at, at any moment. But we will for sure take the kids back at some point (hopefully before Clara turns 4 since it took us almost 2 years to get there the first time), and maybe actually take at least one picture of an animal next time.

At home before we headed out. . .

Fiona was loving this ice cream cone . .

Getting her walk on. . .

My matching girls. . . (my mother in law bought this outfit for Clara for Easter and I loved it so much I had to go back and get one for little sis)

Clara loved walking around on this soft padded area & all the kids had fun in the caves. . .

Parker and Jake rocking out. . .

Rocking out continues. . .

Sweet Parker (aka Clara's future husband). . . love this little face. . .

Little Zane (aka Camille's future husband). . . cutest baby ever. . .

Brooklyn and her stick. . . she was having a blast. . .

Camille. . . just hanging. . .

Clara's favorite part of the whole evening. . . this little musical note wall she found on the playground. . .

Wendi & Jake (Jake. . . don't act too cool for pictures just yet, ok?). . .

On a completely different note, we thought it would be fun/funny to see if Clara could carry her little backpack on her own while attempting to walk.

I'd say she did pretty well! Have a great Monday & make it a great week!

My girls. . . at one day old

My two girls
Each on the day of their birth

Clara on the left: 5/2/12
Camille on the right: 1/14/14

At first glimpse of Camille during the C-Section, I thought she looked exactly like Clara did at birth. The nurse, who had met Clara earlier in the hallway, even exclaimed after seeing Camille,

"Oh my goodness, she's a Clara mini-me!!"

But after that first day, I began to see some distinct differences in physical features,
and most family members agree.

What do you think?
Look a-likes? Not so much?

Happy Wednesday!
