Meltdown city

So. . . this has been my reality the past few days. Many days actually. Yes, I took a video of my children crying. That is probably making some of you cringe (no lectures needed) because why in the world would I not be trying to calm at least one of them every second of every day? Well, because sometimes you just have to take a few seconds and laugh at yourself. And the situation. And the insane amount of noise taking place in your (very small) living room. Or else one might have a nervous breakdown, no?

Thoughts on this. . .

If anyone knows how to run coffee via an IV all day long, please let me know.

If anyone knows how to grow another two arms, please let me know.

If anyone would like to pray, or laugh with me, please just go ahead, you don't have to let me know.

Two kids under two. . . bring it Wednesday!

  1. Oh girl. Praying immediately. Praying for laughter and calmed nerves. I can imagine that is so not funny that it becomes funny. I'm working on the coffee IV drip, should have that perfected shortly!

  3. oh yes, i remember these days well! in fact we still have them occasionally at 5 & 3 :-) One of the best things I ever did was start putting my headphones in and blasting music, while I attempted all of the "get them to stop crying" techniques. It definitely helped :-)

  4. Oh goodness… I completely understand! I had one of those "laugh so I don't cry" moments today in the HEB parking lot! We had just left and the sweet lady gave Reid a red sticker instead of a purple one, so he threw it across the parking lot, then screamed when I wouldn't go get it for him, then he threw his opened yogurt pouch across the car and yogurt went everywhere. Then Georgia started crying while he was crying about his yogurt… I just sat there and laughed. Hang in there mama! You are doing an awesome job!!

  5. Ahh, it stresses me out just watching/listening to it! I remember having a "there's nothing else I can do but laugh" day when Avery was 2 weeks old... thankfully it has gotten much better and much more manageable since then :) So hopefully when Camille is Avery's age now, you will be able to say the same! Hang in there, friend!

  7. I can't relate… I never have days where both kids are crying and I definitely don't get overwhelmed and want to run away from home when it happens. HA!

Glad you're able to roll with the punches and hope those sweet girls are taking it easy on you now and then :)

  8. This is the second video I have seem this week of infants crying and I am not kidding you, I have not one memory of that teeny newborn cry! I think I was either so tired I forgot or I blocked it out!! :)

  9. Two under two is no joke (approximately 5 months ago!) I will say - it gets easier.... the baby will eventually be interested in SOMETHING... ANYthing besides mama. The big girl will eventually realize that she hasn't lost mama to the baby. You will figure out a new routine... it just takes time. Hang in there - and keep taking moments to laugh at it - because otherwise you will lose your mind. This week my sad refluxy 7 month old was on about day 28 of crying all day and I finally dropped them both off with a friend just for the purpose of having lunch alone in peace. It was a beautiful thing.... thank goodness for those kinds of friends!

  11. A friend told me when I was pregnant with Ingrid that once you have 3, someone is crying all the time. It is so true. My house looks like that all the time! When Ingrid was new, I would sometimes get so overwhelmed I would lock myself in my room, fold a load of laundry, and then just see who was still crying when I came out. Usually they'd all stopped, but every time at least someone had. Who knew having children was such a LOUD experience?!?! My inner introvert craves silence so often!!
