Currently. . . Jan 2013 edition

Loving: My 2013 Erin Condren Life Planner. Yes - I finally gave in and ordered one and then felt sick with buyers remorse. But let me tell you. . .  it is money well spent people. If you are a planner/organizer/list maker geek like myself, then you too would get your moneys worth.

Reading: 7 by Jen Hatmaker. Can I just say that I am in love with this book? It has made me think about a lot of things in my life, areas in which I could use a little a lot of perspective.

Watching: Parenthood. Somehow this show keeps drawing me back time and time again. I always end up in tears. Always. Does anyone else suffer from the "I know Kristina's condition is going to make me cry but I keep coming back for more" syndrome? Please tell me I am not alone here.

Listening to: Dessert song by Hillsong United. The chorus gets me every time...pretty powerful huh? I am known to blare this song at home while I am cleaning or doing random tasks. Am I the only person who finds songs that much more powerful when volume is at top notch? I may or may not have woken Clara up from her nap Sunday afternoon because of said obsession. Mother of the year award right there.

Thinking about: What I am going to make for dinner this week. You know. . . in the spirit of my new years goals. I am thinking about this yummy looking mexican dish, but that will depend on if I brave walking to the store on a day when there is a 90% chance of rain. Thank you Rav4 for dying on me and not responding to any type of battery charging. (please note the sarcasm here. I am so blessed to even have a car when I know many people cannot say the same.)

Looking forward to: Watching this girl make progress in her development (will give more updates on this at a later time). She has been in Occupational Therapy for a month now and went from not sitting up to sitting up unassisted after just one week of therapy sessions. Now girlfriend thinks she's all that. Will have nothing of me helping her. She wants to practice her new skill all. the. time. without assistance from her momma. Love.

Making me happy: Our weekend ahead that appears to be wide open with hardly any commitments. Sometimes a clear calendar is good for the soul.

What are you loving these days? What is making you happy?

Have a great day!

  1. First, I am a Parenthood junkie!! I seriously can't stop watching but I cry EVERY time. Even at the previews for next week's episode. It's bad. And, can we just say how stinking cute Clara looks in that picture? Those eyes!!

  2. Oooh, I want to hear more about the Life Planner!! (You could do a review post on it or something?) It sounds like something I would love, but I'd love to hear more about it from you in detail!!

Also, when it comes to meals, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the "Our Best Bites" cookbooks. They have two now, and they're pretty cheap on Amazon, and they are AWESOME. They also have a website (just google "our best bites"). They are young moms and they mostly make quick and easy food, but have lots of variety, and gorgeous pictures, and fun stories... totally amazing cookbooks. (And no, I'm not LDS either, but I always tease Chris that the Mormons have the best food!) :)

    2. And sure I will try to do a little review. They are not cheap... but if you are a write it down type of list/calendar person then this thing is for you.

  5. That is so fantastic that Clara has made progress so fast, what a big girl, awesome. I love Parenthood, only watched the first season but I'll watch anything with a Gilmore Girl in it :)

  6. First, yay Clara!!

Second, Love this post. May have to check those planners out...never heard of them. And Parenthood? Yes! Loooove. I started watching it when Ellie was a newborn and spent many, many hours sitting on my bum feeding Ellie whilst catching up on the episodes. Sigh, memories. :)

    1. I just wish it came on earlier b/c I literally cannot stay awake for an entire episode. I might make it through the first 15 minutes. If I'm lucky. Thank goodness for On Demand. :)

  7. Parenthood... sucks me in time and time again. Blasting good music, is sometimes the best thing for my soul. Clara looks waaaay too grown up in that picture. Nope, won't have any of that!

  8. I lusted over the Erin Condren planners for like...a year. Then I ended up getting the (much cheaper, much less features) Maybook. I'm not going to pretend that part of my soul doesn't still want an Erin Condren.

    1. I did the same thing! I would design my EC Life Planner, have it in the checkout and then delete the order. I did that probably 6-8 times. Then I just gave in to temptation. You are stronger than me. :)
