Bye Bye Courtshire Lane

This little house has been so good to us . . .

It's a crazy thing to leave your first home . . those early newlywed days . . . the early baby days . . . lots of bittersweet emotion . . . lots of memories . . . but many more memories to come. . .

I may or may not have cried when we drove out of the driveway the last time. Brandon was so sweet to remind me, "Britt, you cried when we left our 800 sq. ft. apartment and you grew to love our first home. You will love our second." It's true. So maybe I get emotional. . . what can I say? And it wouldn't be proper documentation without a selfie so . . .

So long perfect, little house on Courtshire Lane! We loved our eight years with you!

Now, time to unpack another box . . .

  1. Eek, 8 years! I would have been crying, too. But he's right- you will make all kinds of great new memories in your new home! Can't wait to see it!

  3. What a cute house! I was a complete wreck when we moved from our first house and cried for several days. Totally normal. :) So excited of your family and all of the memories you will make in your new home!

  4. Oh it's sooo hard to leave your home! I cried when I drove away from our house in Denver. I'd had both girls while living in that house, there were so many memories, and I'd adored that house from the first day I ever saw it online. And there I was, packed up in the suburban with all three kids, leaving Chris to deal with the final truck-loading-and-movers nightmare, and about to drive my three kids across the country by myself, never to see that sweet home again. I cried plenty!!!

  5. It's such a sweet house. Also, I cry every time I move!! The mover said it was normal, if that helps at all! :) Congratulations on your new house. I can't wait to see pictures. And I doubt my interior designer will travel to Texas, but maybe you can find a good one at your church who also loves your family and wants to work for free like we did! Ha!
